you can only think what everyone else is thinking.”

My Story

I have always been curious, driven, and interested in educating myself on any topic that caught my attention. I grew up in a rad, small town in Idaho with about 3,000 people and when I wasn't skiing, playing soccer, soaking in hot springs, or pwning n00bs on Halo, I was reading, cooking, or learning how computers worked. I moved to the 'big city' of Spokane, WA to study Finance, Spanish, and Environmental studies at Gonzaga University. What college really taught me was how to think critically, be open and welcoming to new ideas, and the benefits of community.

Curiosity and a recommendation from a Gonzaga alumni drove me toward a higher education sales role with Cengage right out of college. Sales was challenging and rewarding. I loved learning from mentors and faculty, speaking with students, training new hires, and constantly improving. I would spend hours reading sales books, organizing my days/weeks, strategizing large sales opportunities, managing my sales pipeline, talking to faculty and administrators about what was working and what needed to be improved upon, collaborating with schools and departments on innovative initiatives like competency based programs; the list goes on. I enjoyed the process so much and was fortunate to have several years of success. While I worked full-time with Cengage, I completed an online Master's of Instructional Design program at Western Governors University. I wanted to better understand course design, learning theory, and be a better resource for faculty and students.

After Cengage, I worked for Screencast-O-Matic as the Sales Manager. I was tasked with building the outbound sales pipeline. I learned CRM administration, RFP processes, SEO, global sales tactics, and what working for a startup is like. On the side, I did contract instructional design work for Jesuit Worldwide Learning and helped build and teach a 6-month, hybrid professional certificate course to be delivered on android tablets for people at the margins. The course was built for a custom LMS using Articulate 360. I worked with SME's, a development team, and administrators across the world. I created weekly quizzes, content voiceovers, video lectures, and a lesson on memory according to established deadlines. Once the course was completed, I taught two course sessions for students in Kenya, Malawi, India, Myanmar, and Afghanistan.

I currently work for Boise State University as an Online Course Technologist. I work with faculty, instructional designers, media, development, quality assurance and copyright and accessibility, on continuous course improvement for online courses.

I am always looking for new opportunities.
